Tango Soccer: World Cup League (Summer 2026)
This is a 60-minute, once-a-week youth soccer league held on Saturdays (6 sessions total) running from June 6th – July 18th (no session July 4th). Please select your child’s age group based on their age at the time of the first session and enter your child’s name in the “Ticket Holder” field at check-out. This is a games only league – no practices.
Program Overview
Club OODAZU is thrilled to present Tango Soccer League: Summer 2026 – World Cup Series! A fast-paced, high-energy soccer experience designed to maximize touches, sharpen technical skills, and create a fun, competitive environment for kids of all levels.
The name “Tango” is inspired by the rich soccer culture of Buenos Aires, Argentina—reigning World Cup champions. It represents creativity, rhythm, and street-style flair, while reflecting the futsal influence that has shaped top players across Argentina, Brazil, and Europe. Futsal builds tight-space control, quick decision-making, and technical precision—skills that translate directly to outdoor soccer.
Tango Soccer League blends outdoor field play and indoor futsal-style sessions at Club OODAZU, giving players the best of both worlds. With the 2026 FIFA World Cup coming to the U.S., there’s no better time for players to stay active, have fun, and enjoy soccer with friends.
World Cup Fun & Competitions
- Opening Day Ceremony: Teams receive their countries in a draft reveal, followed by a tunnel walkout-style introduction with music—just like the pros!
- Bracket Challenge: At registration, families can pick the World Cup winner and runner-up for a chance to win prizes.
- Weekly Awards: Keep kids motivated with the Golden Boot leaderboard, Team of the Week, and other fun recognitions.
- World Cup Winner Prize: If your team’s country wins the real 2026 World Cup, every player earns a special prize.
- Finals Day Showdown: Teams will battle it out all season, earning seeding for an action-packed World Cup-style Finals Day on the last session!
Age Groups
- 5U & 6U (9/1/2020 – 8/31/2022)
- 7U & 8U (9/1/2018 – 8/31/2020)
- 9U & 10U (9/1/2016 – 8/31/2018)
- 11U & 12U (9/1/2014 – 8/31/2016)
- 13U & 14U (9/1/2012 – 8/31/2014)
Players will be grouped by age and skill level to ensure balanced and competitive gameplay.
Program Format
Each session is designed to keep players moving, learning, and having fun!
- One main game per session, with half the sessions outdoors and half indoors (based on weather and availability)
- Challenge games: PK shootouts, soccer tennis, and other fun competitions to earn prizes
Gameplay Structure:
- 5U–8U: 5v5
- 9U–10U: 4v4
- 11U–14U: 3v3
Small-sided, fast-paced games encourage more touches, quick decision-making, and creativity, while challenge games keep every session exciting and competitive.
Schedule
Saturdays | 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
(June 6 – July 18, no session July 4)
Each team will be assigned a specific 60-minute time slot within this window. Final schedules will be released after registration is completed and teams are formed.
Registration
Registration closes June 1 or when capacity is reached.
Spots are limited due to small-sided team formats and controlled game environments.
Final team assignments and schedules will be shared prior to the first session. Limited late registration may be available based on space.
