Basketball at Club OODAZU in Decatur offers something for every player, whether they’re just starting out or preparing to compete at a higher level. Our programs include developmental youth basketball, recreational and competitive youth basketball leagues, basketball camps for youth, and skill clinics—all designed to improve fundamentals, develop teamwork, and build confidence on and off the court. With fun, positive coaching and access to state-of-the-art indoor basketball courts, players of all ages and abilities can thrive in a safe, supportive environment.

Youth basketball programs at Club OODAZU include developmental programs for the really little ones, recreational leagues for all ages, skill-building clinics, competitive training, seasonal basketball youth camps, basketball fitness programs, tournaments, and indoor basketball training on state-of-the-art basketball courts. Whether your child is learning the fundamentals or refining advanced skills, there are options to grow, compete, and have fun at Club OODAZU.

Benefits of Youth Basketball

Basketball helps young athletes develop far beyond the court. Through practices, games, and youth basketball training, kids improve coordination, agility, endurance, and teamwork. Participation in our youth basketball fitness programs and basketball camps also teaches perseverance, resilience, and communication skills. Most importantly, basketball provides a fun, safe, and supportive environment where children gain confidence, make friends, and cultivate a lifelong love of the sport.

CURRENT PROGRAMS

ZU Hoops: 3v3 Game Lab

Introducing ZU HOOPS: 3v3 Game Lab — Club OODAZU’s newest youth basketball experience — and it’s built differently. Six Friday sessions of fast, competitive 3v3 gameplay where every player gets more touches, more shots, and more real decisions than a traditional league ever allows. The 3v3 format isn’t a shortcut — it’s the point. Spacing, creativity, communication, and basketball IQ develop faster when players are constantly involved, and that’s exactly what ZU HOOPS is designed for.

Each 60-minute session runs straight into action: a quick warm-up, continuous gameplay, and a competitive finish — whether that’s finals or a round of King of the Court. Small rosters of 4–5 players per team mean no one is standing around waiting for their moment.

ZU HOOPS runs Fridays from June 5th through July 17th (no session July 3rd), with time slots between 5:30–7:30 PM. Age groups span 7U through 14U, and players are organized to keep competition balanced and meaningful. Registration closes June 1st — or sooner, because spots are limited by design.

Basketball Train & Play

Club OODAZU’s Youth Basketball Train & Play program gives athletes ages 6–17 a fun, structured environment to build skills, confidence, and a love for the game every Thursday evening.

Open to all skill levels — from beginners learning the fundamentals to competitive players looking for extra reps and live game time. Coaches tailor instruction to each athlete and group players by age and skill level to ensure the right challenge and development for everyone on the court.

Each 55-minute session follows a Train & Play model, blending skill development with structured gameplay to maximize learning and enjoyment.

Session Format:

  • Skill Training (25 min) — ball handling, passing, shooting, footwork, defense & basketball IQ
  • Structured Gameplay (30 min) — small-sided games and scrimmages applying skills in real game situations

Thursdays 5:00–5:55PM | May 14 – July 30 (10 sessions, excluding weeks of May 25 & June 29)

Pricing: $20 per session | Free for active Club OODAZU members
